Drive Sprocket

We manufacture drive sprockets for roller sprockets in accordance with all applicable ISO standards, in particular ISO 606, which replaces the standards DIN 8187 and DIN ISO 8188. The tooth profile can be based on ISO 606, but also, alternatively, on another standard, and freely selectable optimised tooth shapes. The individual tooth geometry offers advantages when it comes to wear and tear and service life of the roller sprockets.

Roller sprockets are manufactured both in welded version and as one solid part. In addition to the function, the economic efficiency is in this context decisive for the selection of the construction.
In special cases, the welded constructions can also be used as a substitute for cast-iron wheels, since it is not necessary to build an expensive mould. This represents a major economic advantage when replacing it with a spare part.
Sprockets in welded version can be reinforced with spokes and thus convey much larger loads. The use and the breaking load of the roller chain according to DIN ISO 606 as well as individual manufacturer’s specifications are also taken into consideration here.
It is particularly economical to manufacture the large roller sprockets in welded version. In this way a forged ring is welded together with a washer and a hub. Welded ribs and/or spokes are used as reinforcement. Lightening holes are incorporated in the wafer for the purpose of weight reduction.

Sprockets for roller sprockets can be designed as Simplex, Duplex or Triplex sprockets. On customer’s request, we also manufacture the sprockets for quadruple and sextuple roller chains.

Conveyor chain wheels

We manufacture conveyor chain wheels for any conveyor chain of any splits as well as conveying tasks. The tooth profile of the conveyor chain wheel is usually adjusted to fit the relevant conditions and can be provided with grooves for dirt and tooth gap clearance. Conveyor chain wheels are now mostly inductively hardened. This is carried out in one of our CNC-controlled inductive hardening plants. Materials such as C45 and 42CrMo4 are used here.
For the food industry, we manufacture the sprockets made of plastic, stainless steel V2A/V4A and zinc-plated conveyor belt wheels as well.
Furthermore, we also produce:
– Bush conveyor chains DIN 8165 and DIN 8164 as well as DIN 8167.
– Scrapper chains DIN 8177, bush chains DIN 8168, flat link chains 8175, DIN Berg 2251, steel bolt chains DIN 654, DIN 686 gall chains DIN 8150, DIN 8151
– draw bench chains DIN 8156 and DIN 8157
We also manufacture the chains following the foreign standards, such as SFS 2380, SMS 2083, British Standard

Forked-link sprocket

The wheels are CNC milled and inductively hardened. We use C45 or 42CrMo4 as material, in special cases we also readily make the chains from Hardox or similar wear-resistant materials. Reversing wheels can be provided with special gearing, so that an optimal movement is ensured, since the chain is guided. This form is particularly economical.

The forked-link sprocket can be provided with normal gearing or with reverse gearing. This enables the rotation of the sprocket and doubling of the operating time.

Lantern pinion

We manufacture lantern pinion wheels with involute gearing made in CNC-controlled production plant. We produce the lantern pinion and the pinion according to customer’s needs based on the intended use. Our lantern pinion design programme prepares the necessary tooth flange contours for that purpose and thus enables an optimal function.

Special gearing

We are capable of manufacturing the sprockets for special application, which are optimally adapted to meet the requirements. For that reason, we closely cooperate with our customers, manufacturers of chains and engineers.

Drive drum

The chain rings are CNC milled and powder-plated or inductively hardened on request. All chain rings are pre-fitted on the basis of a special procedure, so that they can fit up to 100% during assembly. Of course we also supply the matching pinion which are ready for installation. In principle, we produce the rotary sprockets for all divisions up to a drum diameter of 5 meter as well as sprockets up to a dimater of 2,800mm and 3.5 t item weight.

Split sprocket

A split sprocket helps to reduce the laborious assembly and disassembly time during maintenance and installation. Every sprocket can also be manufactured in a split variant. The sprocket has no disadvantages at all as opposed to a traditional sprocket and is secured by screws across the split joint. In this way the sprocket fits perfectly on the shaft. During the revision of the system, the sprocket therefore does not have to be disassembled from the shaft in a time-consuming manner.

Welded sprocket

Roller sprockets such as the conveyor chain sprockets are manufactured both in welded version and as one solid part. In addition to this function, the economic efficiency is in this context decisive for the selection of the construction.
In special cases, the welded constructions can also be used as a substitute for cast-iron wheels, since it is not necessary to build an expensive mould. This represents a major economic advantage when replacing it with a spare part.

Hardened sprocket

Our CNC-controlled hardening system ensures a consistent quality. The in-house manufacturing guarantees a fast and flexible delivery time. It is also possible to harden in use as well as to plate the sprockets. In this area we have been collaborating with reliable service providers for years now.

Your advantages
– short delivery time
– optimised hardening techniques
– high resistance against wear

Zinc-plated sprocket

We are also happy to provide sprockets in galvanized and chromated versions. When the sprockets are inductively hardened, we apply a special process in order to counteract the embrittlement of the material by applying the process of galvanisation.

Plastic sprocket

Depending on the application, it may be necessary to manufacture plastic sprockets. It is also possible to produce plastic wheels and the steel hubs. The advantages are the low weight, the lower noise emission and – depending on the material – possible use in the food industry. Diverse plastic and other materials are used, most often PA6G.

TaperLock

We manufacture all sprockets on customer’s request with TaperLock mounting The wheels can also be prepared for all commercially available clamping sets. We will be happy to provide you with fully assembled components, i.e. including the clamping set and TaperLock socket.

Groove for dirt

The sprockets are provided with grooves for collecting the dirt in the environment contaminated with dirt. In this way the dirt is removed more easily and consequently, the chain is not hindered. This usually increase the service life of the chain and sprocket.

Single-tooth models

As alternative to gear rims, we manufacture single-tooth models which are welded or fastened with screws directly to the drum. The single-tooth models are also in most cases inductively hardened and provided with mounting bores on request. The single-tooth models are used together with rotary chains.

Shearing hub

Sprockets and special drive sprockets for roller chains should be equipped with shearing hubs in particular in large plants, and thus designed as shearing sprockets. The hub is here connected to the sprocket via a free wheel with the aid of shear bolts. This is designed in such a way that it maintains the shearing action under a specified breaking load. If the breaking load of the chain is higher than that of the shearing bolts, the chain will not break, but rather the bolts. The sprocket is disengaged and the system can be shut down in a controlled manner.

The bolts can be quickly replaced, and therefore the system can be quickly restarted. These constructions are particularly beneficial if heavy conveyed goods fall into the system or if the system is jammed. The shearing sprocket is individually adjusted to suit the customer’s requirements, taking into consideration the drive power, the chain and the conveyed goods.
